The box office journey for Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s latest action-packed film “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” has taken a significant downturn, with the movie collecting just ₹2.5 crore on its fifth day at the domestic box office. This marks a substantial drop of 72% from its Sunday collection, signaling a challenging road ahead for the film’s box office performance in the coming days.
The film, which enjoyed an extended weekend release on April 11th, kicked off on a strong note with ₹15.65 crore on its opening day. However, the momentum seemed to wane as the days progressed, with collections of ₹7.6 crore on Friday, ₹8.5 crore on Saturday, and ₹9 crore on Sunday. With the current figures, the movie’s total domestic collection stands at ₹43 crore.
Despite the domestic setback, “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” is faring better on the international front, with expectations of crossing the ₹100 crore mark in worldwide collections by day 5.
Directed by Ali and produced by a team including Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Jackky Bhagnani, Himanshu Kishan Mehra, and Zafar, the film features Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff in adrenaline-pumping action sequences as elite soldiers on a mission to recover a stolen AI weapon. It also stars Prithiviraj Sukumaran as the antagonist Kabir, alongside Manushi Chhillar, Alaya F, and Sonakshi Sinha in key roles.
Ali expressed confidence in the film’s action-packed appeal, stating, “I am bringing him [Akshay Kumar] into the space that his audience wants to watch him in the most, which is action.”
While the recent box office numbers may raise concerns, the final verdict on “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” awaits as it continues its theatrical run across multiple languages including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
