Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 continues to make waves at the box office with an impressive collection and high occupancy rates.
Directed by Anees Bazmee, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has had a stellar run since its Diwali opening. According to early estimates from Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 36.50 crore on its second day, bringing its total earnings to an impressive Rs 72 crore in the domestic market within just two days. These numbers reflect a strong reception from audiences across the country, with a reported 75.06% Hindi occupancy on Saturday alone.
The film experienced peak engagement as it registered 45.63% occupancy in the morning shows, soaring to 86.92% in the evening and reaching 87.17% by night. Kartik Aaryan, who returns as the beloved character Rooh Baba, shares the screen with Vidya Balan, marking her return to the franchise after 17 years. The much-anticipated comeback of Balan has added to the film’s appeal, drawing fans of the original movie to theaters in droves.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh praised the film’s performance in a post on X, emphasizing the power of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa brand. “BRAND ‘BB3’ EMERGES TRIUMPHANT… #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 is EXTRAORDINARY, proves all calculations and estimations wrong by a wide margin,” he wrote, noting the strong performance in both multiplexes and single screens. Adarsh added, “While the national chains [#PVR, #INOX, #Cinepolis – ₹ 15.91 cr] have shown fantastic results, the performance of #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 in mass-market areas – particularly single screens – is remarkable.” He also acknowledged the film’s success in competing with Singham Again, another big Diwali release.
Critics have highlighted Kartik Aaryan’s nuanced performance in the horror-comedy, with NDTV film critic Saibal Chatterjee commending the actor’s understanding of the franchise’s unique blend of humor and suspense. Chatterjee wrote, “It is evident that Kartik Aaryan has got the hang of the weird and disorienting house of mirrors that is Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. His star turn is a repeat act that promises a box-office outcome that could be on par with what Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 yielded.”
