Renowned Indian playback singer Arijit Singh has postponed his much-anticipated concert in Abu Dhabi due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan in the wake of a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
Originally scheduled for May 9, 2025, at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island, the concert has now been pushed to a later date. Singh’s team took to Instagram to make the announcement, citing the current geopolitical situation. “Due to recent events, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Arijit Singh live concert in Abu Dhabi,” the statement read.
Fans who had already purchased tickets can either use them for the rescheduled date or apply for a full refund starting May 12, 2025, with a seven-day refund window.
The postponement comes days after India launched retaliatory strikes on nine terror sites in Pakistan, following a brutal terror attack in Pahalgam in which 26 lives were lost, including a local who tried to resist the attackers. The terrorists reportedly segregated victims based on religion before opening fire.
The Resistance Front (TRF), a Pakistan-based outfit affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the massacre. TRF has been active since the abrogation of Article 370, which previously granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
This marks the second show Arijit Singh has cancelled in response to the ongoing violence. Shortly after the Pahalgam attack, he pulled out of a scheduled concert in Chennai, showing solidarity with the victims and their families.
Singh’s decision has been met with support from fans and followers, who praised the artist for prioritizing safety and acknowledging the gravity of the situation. His team assured fans that new dates would be announced soon and promised a memorable experience once the concert is rescheduled.
