In a momentous development, legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has joined the cast of Rajinikanth’s much-anticipated film, “Thalaivar 170,” creating a buzz in the entertainment industry. This exciting announcement was made by the film’s production house, Lyca Productions, on Tuesday.
Lyca Productions welcomed Amitabh Bachchan with enthusiasm, hailing him as the “Shahenshah of Indian cinema” and expressed their excitement about having him on board for this prestigious project. The collaboration between Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth marks a significant reunion after 32 years since their last film together, the family drama “Hum” in 1991.
The yet-to-be-titled film, directed by TJ Gnanavel of “Jai Bhim” fame, is set to be a monumental cinematic event. While Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth have not shared the screen in recent years, Amitabh has always been a vocal supporter of Rajinikanth’s work. His presence was even notable at a press conference for “Robot,” which featured his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai.
This star-studded project, backed by Lyca Productions, was originally announced in March and has been generating excitement among fans ever since. Rajinikanth, in discussing the film, stated, “I’m doing my 170th film with director Gnanavel and Lyca, which will be a huge entertainer at the same time with a social message.”
Details about the film’s title and plot have not been revealed yet, keeping fans eagerly awaiting more updates. Anirudh Ravichander is set to compose the music for the Tamil film, which will be produced by Subaskaran.
Apart from the iconic duo of Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth, “Thalaivar 170” boasts an impressive ensemble cast. The film will feature acclaimed actors Fahadh Faasil and Rana Daggubati in prominent roles, adding to the excitement surrounding this cinematic venture. The cast also includes Ritika Singh, Manju Warrier, and Dushara Vijayan, further elevating the film’s star power.
Rajinikanth, who was last seen in “Jailer” directed by Nelson, expressed his delight over the film’s success and referred to it as a “victory beyond expectations.” In addition to “Thalaivar 170,” Rajinikanth has several other projects in the pipeline, including an untitled film with director Lokesh Kanagaraj and his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s “Lal Salaam.”
On the other hand, Amitabh Bachchan continues to be a powerhouse in Bollywood, with recent releases such as “Brahmastra,” “Goodbye,” and “Uunchai.” His upcoming projects include “Ganapath” and “Kalki 2898 AD,” promising a remarkable lineup for the veteran actor.
“Thalaivar 170” is shaping up to be a cinematic spectacle with the convergence of two iconic actors, Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth, making it one of the most highly anticipated films of the year.
