Amitabh Bachchan Pays ₹120 Crore in Taxes for FY 2024-25, Among India’s Highest Tax-Paying Celebrities

Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has once again proven his dominance in the entertainment industry, not just with his performances but also with his financial contributions to the nation. At 82, the megastar continues to earn handsomely, with his total income for the financial year 2024-25 reaching ₹350 crore. His tax payment of ₹120 crore makes him one of the highest tax-paying celebrities in India.

Amitabh’s Massive Earnings and Tax Contribution

According to a report by Pinkvilla, Amitabh’s earnings stem from multiple sources, including blockbuster film projects, brand endorsements, and hosting the widely popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). His last installment of advance tax payment, amounting to ₹52.50 crore, was made on March 15, 2025.

An industry insider highlighted, “From leading major feature films to being the top choice for brand endorsements, Amitabh Bachchan remains a highly sought-after celebrity. His television presence with KBC adds significantly to his earnings. With a total income of ₹350 crore, he stands among the highest individual earners in the film industry.”

The source further praised Bachchan for his financial discipline, stating, “He is a role model for all Indians and ensures timely tax payments. Amitabh is committed to exciting new projects in 2025 and continues to inspire his fans.”

In comparison, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan paid ₹92 crore in taxes last year, further underscoring Bachchan’s financial prowess.

Amitabh’s Upcoming Projects

Currently, Amitabh Bachchan is hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati season 16. On the big screen, he was last seen in Vettaiyan, where he reunited with Rajinikanth after three decades. The film was released in theatres on October 10. Additionally, he played a key role in Kalki 2898 AD.

Looking ahead, Amitabh is set to star in Section 84, a courtroom drama directed by Ribhu Dasgupta. He is also confirmed for the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin.

Despite his age, Amitabh Bachchan continues to dominate the entertainment industry, inspiring millions with his work ethic and financial integrity.
