Actor Allu Arjun visited KIMS Hospital in Begumpet on Tuesday to meet Sri Teja, an eight-year-old boy seriously injured during the stampede at Sandhya Theatre. The incident occurred during the premiere of Arjun’s latest film, Pushpa 2: The Rule.
Allu Arjun Visits Hospital
Videos and photos of Allu Arjun entering the hospital surfaced on social media. Dressed in a green sweater and black pants, the actor was accompanied by his team. Telangana State Film Development Corporation (FDC) Chairman Dil Raju was also present.
Security was heightened at the hospital ahead of Arjun’s visit. Initially scheduled for January 5, his visit was delayed after Ramgopalpet Police Station issued a notice advising him to keep the visit confidential to maintain public order.
Actor Expresses Concern
Allu Arjun expressed his deep concern for Sri Teja, who is under constant medical care. He previously wished the boy a speedy recovery and expressed a desire to meet him but delayed the visit due to ongoing legal proceedings.
Boy’s Recovery
Positive signs of recovery have been reported. As of December 24, 2024, Sri Teja showed responsiveness after being unresponsive for 20 days. His father, Bhaskar, thanked Arjun and the Telangana government for their support, saying, “The child responded after 20 days. He is responding today. Allu Arjun and the Telangana government are supporting us.”
The Sandhya Theatre Stampede
The tragic stampede occurred on December 4 as fans crowded Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun during the premiere. The incident claimed the life of Revathi, a woman, and left her son, Sri Teja, severely injured.
Legal Developments
A case was filed against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management at Chikkadpally police station following a complaint by Revathi’s family. Charges were registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Arjun was arrested on December 13 in connection with the case. The Telangana High Court granted him interim bail on December 14, followed by regular bail from a city court on January 3. He has been added as Accused No. 11 in the case.
Despite the legal and emotional challenges surrounding the incident, Arjun’s hospital visit and efforts to support the victim’s family have been widely acknowledged.
