Akshay Kumar's "Sarfira" Shows Strong Growth at Box Office, Earns ₹5.1 Crore on Day 3

Akshay Kumar’s latest release “Sarfira,” a remake of Sudha Kongara’s National Award-winning Tamil film “Soorarai Pottru,” has shown promising performance at the domestic box office over its opening weekend.

According to reports from Sacnilk, “Sarfira” witnessed a significant rise in earnings on its third day, collecting ₹5.1 crore on Sunday. This marks a 20% increase from its Saturday collection of ₹4.25 crore, after an opening of ₹2.5 crore on Friday.

Competing with films like S Shankar’s “Indian 2” and holdovers such as “Kill” and “Kalki 2898 AD,” Akshay Kumar’s portrayal in “Sarfira” has garnered attention for its adaptation of the inspiring story from the life of Air Deccan founder Captain GR Gopinath.

Produced by Cape of Good Films, 2D Entertainment, and Abundantia Entertainment, “Sarfira” also stars Radhika Madan, Paresh Rawal, and Seema Biswas. The film explores themes of ambition and determination, resonating with audiences drawn to its impactful narrative.

Director Sudha Kongara, in an interview with PTI, expressed her versatility across languages and her desire to collaborate with top talents in Bollywood, reflecting her broad artistic aspirations beyond regional boundaries.

With positive word-of-mouth and critical acclaim for its performances and narrative depth, “Sarfira” is poised to continue its strong showing at the box office amidst upcoming releases. Audiences can expect more from Akshay Kumar, who has a lineup of anticipated films including “Khel Khel Mein,” “Sky Force,” “Singham Again,” “Jolly LLB 3,” “Welcome to the Jungle,” and “Shankara.”
