Aishwarya Rai’s SIIMA Awards Look Fails to Impress Despite Winning Best Actress Award: Poses with Daughter Aaradhya

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, known for her iconic red carpet appearances, attended the SIIMA Awards 2024 with her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan last night. While Aishwarya walked away with the prestigious Best Actress in a Leading Role (Critics) award for her performance in Ponniyin Selvan 2, her fashion choice for the evening left fans and fashion critics unimpressed.

Aishwarya arrived at the star-studded event wearing a black embellished anarkali gown that featured intricate gold sequin work. The floor-length ensemble boasted full sleeves, a bandhgala collar with a V slit, and a flowing skirt that cascaded to the floor. She paired the gown with a matching black zari dupatta adorned with gold sequin embellishments, which she draped elegantly over her shoulder. To complement the outfit, Aishwarya opted for dangling gold earrings, a statement ring, and stilettos.

Despite the effort, Aishwarya’s attire failed to make a lasting impression. Many felt that the outfit did not live up to the actor’s previous stunning looks. Critics noted that the overall look, though ornate, lacked the wow factor typically associated with Aishwarya’s red carpet appearances.

For her makeup, Aishwarya went with a glamorous coral pink lip color, winged eyeliner, and glowing highlighter, but the makeup didn’t lift the outfit to the level her fans are used to seeing. She styled her auburn-highlighted hair loose, parted to the side, and kept her accessories minimal to avoid overpowering the heavily adorned gown. However, the understated jewelry and styling left the overall appearance somewhat underwhelming.

Aishwarya’s daughter, Aaradhya, also made an appearance at the awards, twinning with her mom in a black outfit. Aaradhya wore a black kurta and palazzo set, embellished with silver sequins. Her ensemble featured a round neckline, full-length trumpet sleeves, and side slits, offering a more relaxed silhouette compared to her mother’s gown. The mother-daughter duo walked the red carpet hand in hand, posing for pictures and interacting with fans.

Despite the fashion misstep, Aishwarya’s night was a success, as she took home the Best Actress in a Leading Role (Critics) award for her stellar performance in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 2. The acclaimed film, set against the backdrop of historical drama, allowed Aishwarya to showcase her acting prowess, which was praised by critics and audiences alike.
