"Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya" Box Office Report: Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon's Rom-Com Sees Post-Valentine's Day Slowdown

In the latest update on the Bollywood box office front, Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s romantic comedy “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” witnessed a decline in numbers following Valentine’s Day 2024. The film, which initially saw a surge in ticket sales during the romantic holiday, experienced a slowdown, garnering a total of ₹44.6 crore in India by day 7.

According to a report by Sacnilk.com, the film’s earnings dipped significantly on Thursday, with collections totaling approximately ₹3.25 crore nett in India, down from ₹6.75 crore nett on Wednesday. Despite a promising start, “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” struggled to maintain momentum throughout its first week at the box office.

During its opening weekend, the rom-com reached its peak, accumulating ₹9.65 crore nett in India on Saturday, followed by a notable 11.4 percent increase on Sunday, with earnings of ₹10.75 crore. However, the film’s performance gradually declined in the subsequent weekdays, with collections amounting to ₹3.65 crore on Monday and ₹3.85 crore on Tuesday.

“Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” marks the directorial debut of Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios. The storyline revolves around Aryan (played by Shahid Kapoor), a robotics engineer who falls in love with Sifra, a super-intelligent female robot automation portrayed by Kriti Sanon. The film also features cameo appearances by Janhvi Kapoor, alongside veteran actors Dharmendra and Dimple Kapadia.

Speaking about her experience with the unique concept, Kriti Sanon expressed her enthusiasm for exploring unconventional love stories. In an interview with PTI, she remarked, “Love stories are my favorite genre, but they are not made very often. The good ones are made even less because there are fewer conflicts these days. But this conflict (human falling in love with a robot) I never imagined. It’s quirky, different.”

As “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” continues its cinematic journey, audiences remain intrigued by its innovative premise and stellar performances, contributing to the ongoing discourse surrounding the evolution of storytelling in Indian cinema.
