Popular singer Adnan Sami, known for hits like Lift Karadey, recently opened up about the most critical turning point in his life—when he was told by doctors that his health condition at 230 kg could kill him within six months. What followed was an emotional journey of denial, realization, and an incredible transformation that saw him shed 120 kg and reclaim his life.
In a candid interview with India TV, Adnan recalled the moment when his doctor issued a stark warning in front of his father. “They said, ‘If you continue this lifestyle, I will not be surprised that your parents will find you dead in a hotel room six months from now.’” Hurt and embarrassed by the comment being made publicly, Adnan initially brushed it off. “I told my father to ignore the doctor—they tend to be melodramatic,” he said.
Rather than making immediate changes, Adnan confessed that he went straight to a bakery after the appointment and “ate half of their goods.” His father, visibly angry, rebuked him and asked, “Aren’t you scared of God?” That confrontation—and seeing tears in his father’s eyes—eventually made Adnan reflect deeply on his life choices. “He told me, ‘I don’t want to bury my own child.’ That broke something inside me,” the singer shared.
Adnan’s health struggles were not just limited to weight. He revealed that for years, he couldn’t sleep lying down and had to sleep in a sitting position due to breathing difficulties caused by his weight.
Eventually, Adnan committed to a new lifestyle. He shed over 120 kg through strict discipline, guided by a high-protein diet prescribed by his nutritionist. “No sugar, no rice, no bread, no oil, and absolutely no alcohol,” he emphasized, dismissing rumors that his transformation was due to surgery.
Adnan Sami’s transformation first stunned the public around 2007–2008, and his more recent pictures—such as those shared from his 2022 Maldives vacation—continue to draw admiration. Fans often react with awe, with many commenting, “How can someone turn that hot?”
Despite the occasional weight fluctuations, Adnan says the journey has been about self-awareness and resilience. “I have had issues with my weight for the longest time. It’s a lifelong struggle… I keep yo-yoing,” he admitted, calling his transformation part of a continuous personal evolution.
