The trailer for Kalki 2898 AD offers a visual feast, set in a dystopian Kaashi, the last city on Earth, where inhabitants struggle for basic necessities such as water, food, and shelter. The city is ruled by a king (Saswata Chatterjee) who covets a pregnant woman, played by Deepika Padukone. Amitabh Bachchan’s character, Ashwatthama, informs Deepika’s character that she is carrying something divine that the king desires.
Enter Prabhas as Bhairava, who asserts that he never loses a fight, but the trailer leaves audiences questioning whether he will succeed in protecting the pregnant woman. The trailer also showcases Kamal Haasan in a unique and captivating role.
Kalki 2898 AD is set to hit the big screens on June 27 and marks the first on-screen collaboration between Prabhas and Deepika Padukone. The film is produced by C Aswini Dutt, Swapna Dutt, and Priyanka Dutt under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies.
