Madhoo candidly admitted that she initially resisted acknowledging Mani Ratnam’s pivotal role in shaping her career trajectory. She recalled, “There was an element of ‘I.’ I did it all. I refused to give credit to anybody.” However, she expressed regret over her attitude, recognizing Ratnam’s genius and the significant impact he had on her career.

The actress lamented not conveying her gratitude to Ratnam at the time, acknowledging that he deserved recognition as the visionary behind “Roja.” She emphasized, “Mani sir deserves the credit. Her candid reflection serves as a reminder of the importance of acknowledging and appreciating the contributions of mentors and collaborators in one’s career.
