At the much-anticipated trailer launch of the upcoming action thriller ‘Animal,’ Ranbir Kapoor unveiled the driving force behind his compelling portrayal in the film. Reflecting on his character’s unrelenting nature, the acclaimed actor disclosed that his late father, Rishi Kapoor, served as a reference point for him to channel the unwavering intensity required for Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s movie.
During the event held in New Delhi, Ranbir fondly recalled his father and expressed, “Whenever I met Sandeep Reddy Vanga, I always told him to give me a reference. I have never heard or felt like this. I think eventually subconsciously, I thought of my father, the way he used to speak, he was a very passionate and aggressive man.”
The revelation sheds light on the nuanced influence Rishi Kapoor’s persona had on shaping Ranbir’s fierce on-screen presence, despite their acknowledged restrained relationship. The duo previously collaborated on Abhinav Kashyap’s 2013 cop comedy ‘Besharam,’ where they shared the screen alongside Ranbir’s mother, Neetu Kapoor. Rishi Kapoor, a beloved figure in the industry, succumbed to cancer in 2020, leaving behind a significant legacy.
The recently unveiled trailer for ‘Animal’ showcases Ranbir in an entirely intense avatar, portraying an obsessive love for his father. The narrative hints at a tumultuous upbringing that fuels Ranbir’s character’s fierce and protective instincts towards his father, portrayed by Anil Kapoor in the film. The storyline paints a picture of a son vehemently defending his father’s affection, resorting to threats against anyone obstructing their bond.
Accompanied by co-stars Rashmika Mandanna and Bobby Deol, along with producer Bhushan Kumar and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the trailer launch event exuded anticipation and showcased the cast donned in matching black outfits.
‘Animal,’ directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, also features Anil Kapoor in a pivotal role, depicting a compelling father-son dynamic alongside Ranbir Kapoor’s character. Rashmika Mandanna portrays Ranbir’s love interest, while Bobby Deol takes on the role of the antagonist, delivering a stylish yet menacing presence in the trailer.
Scheduled for a theatrical release on December 1, ‘Animal’ promises a gripping narrative that delves into the complexities of familial relationships. The film is set to captivate audiences in five languages – Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
As the release date approaches, ‘Animal’ gears up for a notable clash with Vicky Kaushal’s much-awaited film ‘Sam Bahadur,’ adding to the excitement brewing within the Bollywood industry.
The stage is set for a captivating showdown between these two highly anticipated films, each poised to offer its unique cinematic experience to audiences eagerly awaiting their theatrical debut.
