Vijay's "Leo" Surpasses ₹300 Crore Mark in India, Earns ₹5 Crore on Its 12th Day

In a spectacular display of box office dominance, Vijay-starrer “Leo,” directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, has crossed the ₹300 crore milestone in India, and it continues to shine, raking in ₹5 crore on its 12th day of release.

“Leo” hit theaters on October 19, marking a reunion between actor Vijay and director Lokesh Kanagaraj, who previously collaborated on the 2021 hit film “Master.”

As reported by Sacnilk.com, the film’s week one collections in India were a staggering ₹264.25 crore, with contributions from different language versions, including Tamil (₹212.2 crore), Telugu (₹34.2 crore), Hindi (₹16.65 crore), and Kannada (₹1.2 crore). The film maintained its momentum on day nine with earnings of ₹7.65 crore, and on day 10, it collected ₹15 crore.

On its 11th day, “Leo” continued its remarkable run, bringing in ₹16.55 crore, further solidifying its position at the box office. On its 12th day, the film is estimated to earn ₹5 crore across all languages, culminating in a cumulative total of ₹308.45 crore in India.

“Leo” boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Vijay, Trisha Krishnan, Arjun, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Madonna Sebastian, George Maryan, Mansoor Ali Khan, Priya Anand, and Mathew Thomas. Notably, the film marks the Tamil debut of Bollywood veteran Sanjay Dutt.

Despite its box office triumph, the critical reception of “Leo” has been mixed. A review from The Hindustan Times noted that the film exhibits “emotionally weak action” and highlighted the rapid pace at which scenes unfold. The review pointed out that the film may not provide sufficient emotional depth to connect with the character Leo Das and his inner conflicts, despite its technical finesse.

Nevertheless, “Leo” has proven to be a commercial powerhouse, demonstrating Vijay’s enduring appeal and the popularity of director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s filmmaking. It stands as a testament to the enduring success of this dynamic duo in the world of Indian cinema.
