YouTuber Elvish Yadav's Extortion Case: Arrest Made in Threats Against Big Boss OTT 2 Winner

The Gurugram Police have arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with an extortion case involving Elvish Yadav, the recent winner of Big Boss OTT 2. The case unfolded after Yadav received a series of threatening messages via WhatsApp, demanding a substantial sum of money, initially around ₹40 lakh and later escalating to ₹1 crore.

The accused, identified as Shakir Makrani, hails from Vadnagar, Gujarat, and was taken into custody following a joint operation between Gurugram Police and their counterparts in Gujarat. The motive behind the extortion, according to investigators, appears to be a desire to earn money, possibly influenced by Elvish Yadav’s online prominence.

Addressing the arrest, ACP Crime Branch Varun Dahiya stated, “Gurugram Police, in collaboration with Gujarat Police, has arrested Shakir Makrani. He was influenced by Yadav and hatched a plan to make extortion calls in an attempt to earn money.”

Yadav, a popular YouTuber known for his humorous content, hails from Gurugram and boasts two successful YouTube channels with approximately 14.5 million and 4.75 million subscribers, respectively. His popularity surged even further when he emerged as the winner of the second season of Bigg Boss OTT, defeating Abhishek Malhan in the finale and securing the winner’s trophy along with ₹25 lakh in prize money.

Despite his success, Yadav recently expressed his desire to rid himself of the Bigg Boss winner’s trophy, primarily due to negative public relations claims. This development followed suspicions from fans that he had suggested Abhishek Malhan paid people to troll him. In a vlog, Yadav conveyed his frustration, saying, “Kuch nahi chahiye, zindagi kya hi ho rakhi hai bhai (I do not want all this, what has my life turned into)! All I want is peace, and a love-filled life that I had before Bigg Boss. I am happy with my work, and I want to earn money.”

He added, “I need to complete my new house, shift there, and buy new property and cars. I don’t want to put my head into all these online matters. If you want this trophy, text me, and I will send it. I am done with all this now.”

Gurugram Police has pledged to coordinate with Elvish Yadav in connection with the ongoing case, ensuring his safety and cooperation throughout the investigation. As the legal process unfolds, the public remains eager to see how this incident impacts the popular YouTuber’s future endeavors.
