Salman Khan’s much-anticipated film Sikandar is set to release in theatres on March 30, 2025, marking yet another instance where the superstar has opted for a Sunday release instead of the conventional Friday. The film, directed by AR Murugadoss, will also feature Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, and Sharman Joshi in pivotal roles.
Taking to social media on Wednesday, Salman Khan unveiled a new poster for the film and wrote, “See you in theatres worldwide on 30th March! #Sikandar.”
This isn’t the first time Salman Khan has broken away from the traditional Friday release. In 2023, his Diwali release Tiger 3 also hit the screens on a Sunday, a move that sparked debates among trade experts as it missed the full advantage of a festive weekend.
Emotional Core with High-Octane Action
Speaking about Sikandar, director AR Murugadoss emphasized that the film blends thrilling action with strong emotional depth. Drawing a comparison to his blockbuster Ghajini, he said, “This is not only a mass film; it has strong family emotions. Ghajini was about a boyfriend-girlfriend love story, but this is about a husband-wife relationship. It explores how families function today, how couples treat each other, and what we might be missing in our relationships.”
He further added, “Though Ghajini seemed to be a psychological thriller, the love story of Aamir Khan and Asin was a surprise element. Similarly, Sikandar has an element of love that will move the audience.”
A Power-Packed Collaboration
Sikandar marks Salman Khan’s first collaboration with Rashmika Mandanna, adding to the excitement surrounding the film. The movie is produced under the banner of Sajid Nadiadwala’s Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
