Bollywood icons Rekha and Aamir Khan shared a heartfelt moment with veteran actor Dharmendra at the special screening of Loveyapa, ahead of its theatrical release on February 7. The film, marking the big-screen debut of Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor, has been directed by Advait Chandan.
Rekha’s Respectful Gesture Goes Viral
At the star-studded event, Rekha was seen touching Dharmendra’s feet as a mark of respect, a moment that quickly went viral on social media. The legendary actors have worked together in several films, including Ram Balram, Kahani Kismat Ki, Ghazab, Keemat, and Kasam Suhaag Ki. Rekha also extended the same gesture to filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi, who directed her in Lajja (2001).
Apart from Dharmendra, the screening saw the presence of celebrated personalities like Rajkumar Santoshi, Shabana Azmi, Kabir Khan, and Rekha, who came to support Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor. Rekha also shared a warm moment with Aamir Khan, greeting him with a graceful adaab, to which he responded with a hug.
Karan Johar Praises Loveyapa
Following the screening, filmmaker Karan Johar took to Instagram to shower praise on Loveyapa, calling it “2025’s first love story success story.” He lauded the film’s ability to connect with Gen Z, describing it as “hugely entertaining” and “a great time at the movies.”
Johar further praised the performances of Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor, as well as director Advait Chandan’s storytelling. He wrote, “You will fall in love with all the characters (terrific ensemble) and root for the magical and endearing leads Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor. I can happily watch the film again! Top credit to director Advait Chandan for bringing pace, relentless energy, humour, emotion, and solid storytelling to the fore!”
With Bollywood celebrities already showing immense love for Loveyapa, all eyes are now on its big-screen debut on February 7.
