Pushpa 2: The Rule Box Office Collection Day 9: Allu Arjun-Starrer Rakes in ₹762 Crore Amid Controversy

Sukumar’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, continues its triumphant box office run. Nine days after its release, the film has minted ₹762 crore globally, despite controversies surrounding its premiere.

Box Office Performance

According to Sacnilk.com, Pushpa 2: The Rule garnered approximately ₹32.63 crore on its second Friday, bringing its 9-day India net total to ₹758.93 crore. The film opened strongly, earning ₹10.65 crore during its premiere and ₹164.25 crore on its opening day.

Although it saw a dip on its first Friday, collecting ₹93.8 crore, the weekend proved lucrative, with ₹119.25 crore on Saturday and ₹141.05 crore on Sunday. Over the weekdays, the film maintained steady collections, earning ₹64.45 crore, ₹51.55 crore, ₹43.35 crore, and ₹37.45 crore, making its first-week total ₹725.8 crore.

The second week has started on a positive note, signaling continued audience interest in the action-packed blockbuster.

Tragedy at Sandhya Theatre Premiere

However, the film’s success has been marred by a tragic incident during its premiere at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and the cast were present at the venue to watch the film with fans when a massive crowd led to a stampede-like situation.

A woman lost her life, and her son was critically injured during the chaos. Authorities alleged that Allu Arjun failed to provide prior intimation to the police about the event, leading to his arrest on Friday.

Arjun’s Arrest and Bail

The Nampally Court initially sent Arjun to 14-day judicial remand. However, a leaked letter from the theatre management revealed that they had informed the police in advance and requested bandobast. The Telangana High Court granted the actor a four-week interim bail on Friday evening, allowing him temporary relief.

Industry Support

Several prominent film industry figures, including Varun Dhawan, Rashmika Mandanna, Nani, Ram Gopal Varma, Vivek Oberoi, Nithiin, Sharwanand, Sundeep Kishan, Adivi Sesh, and Rahul Ramakrishna, have expressed their solidarity with Allu Arjun. They criticized his arrest, calling it unfair and urging fans to focus on the film’s success.

About the Film

Pushpa 2: The Rule continues the gripping saga of Pushpa Raj, played by Allu Arjun, with a storyline packed with action, drama, and intrigue. Directed by Sukumar, the sequel has captivated audiences with its larger-than-life visuals, stellar performances, and chartbuster music.
