Kanguva Box Office Collection Day 4: Suriya's Magnum Opus Crosses ₹50 Crore Mark in India

Suriya’s much-anticipated fantasy action drama Kanguva continues to make waves at the box office, grossing nearly ₹140 crore worldwide within its first four days of release. Directed by Siva, the film was launched on a massive scale, with a budget exceeding ₹350 crore, making it one of the most expensive Indian films of the year.

Despite opening to mixed reviews from critics and audiences, Kanguva has displayed a steady upward trend in collections. By Day 4, the domestic nett earnings stood at ₹53.85 crore, with Sunday contributing ₹10.50 crore, marking a slight improvement over Day 2 and Day 3 collections. According to Sacnilk, the Tamil version recorded an occupancy rate of 22.07% in Indian cinemas on Day 4.

Breakdown of Domestic Box Office Collections (Nett):

  • Day 1 (Opening): ₹24 crore
  • Day 2: ₹9.5 crore
  • Day 3: ₹9.85 crore
  • Day 4: ₹10.50 crore
  • Total (4 Days): ₹53.85 crore

Globally, Kanguva amassed ₹127.64 crore within its first three days, as per an official statement from Studio Green, one of the film’s producers. Analysts predict that the film is likely to surpass the ₹150 crore mark in the coming days, bolstered by the strong momentum overseas.

A Spectacle of Grandeur

Shot across seven countries, Kanguva is a visual extravaganza that aims to rival the grandeur of recent blockbusters like Pushpa and Singham. The film stars Suriya in a lead role, alongside Disha Patani and Bobby Deol. The ensemble cast also includes Jagapathi Babu, Natarajan Subramaniam, Yogi Babu, and KS Ravikumar, among others.

Production Journey

Initially announced in 2019, Kanguva faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was revived in 2022. The film’s technical brilliance is helmed by cinematographer Vetri Palanisamy and editor Nishadh Yusuf, with a gripping score by Devi Sri Prasad.

Future Outlook

Released on November 14, Kanguva is aiming to solidify its place as a blockbuster. While its domestic performance has been steady, its global earnings are a testament to Suriya’s massive fan base. Whether it can sustain its momentum in the weeks ahead remains to be seen.
