Directed by Siva, the film was launched on a massive scale, with a budget exceeding ₹350 crore, making it one of the most expensive Indian films of the year.

The much-anticipated film, Kanguva, starring Suriya and Bobby Deol, witnessed a minor rise in earnings on its third day at the Indian box office. Despite a dip in collections on day two, the film managed to regain momentum, adding ₹9.50 crore nett on Saturday, bringing its total to ₹42.75 crore.
