Rajpal Yadav Snatches Journalist's Phone After Question on Diwali Apology Goes Viral

Actor Rajpal Yadav recently faced backlash after an incident with a journalist in Uttar Pradesh, during which he snatched a phone over a question related to his Diwali apology.

Rajpal Yadav, known for his role as Chota Pandit in the Bhool Bhulaiyaa film series, was seen in a viral video snatching a journalist’s phone after being questioned about his recent apology for discouraging firecrackers on Diwali. The video, shared by a journalist from a prominent Hindi publication, shows Yadav visibly frustrated before taking the phone away.

The incident occurred during a media interaction in which Yadav was answering questions about his upcoming projects. He mentioned that audiences would see him in a new role every one and a half months. However, the exchange took a tense turn when a journalist asked about his recent statements on Diwali. Yadav, reportedly irritated, grabbed the phone and appeared to attempt to throw it, though the recording continued and has since gone viral on social media.

Diwali Controversy and Apology

Earlier in the week, Yadav had posted a video on his social media urging fans to refrain from bursting firecrackers, citing environmental concerns. However, after facing criticism, he took down the video and issued an apology, wishing fans a joyful Diwali and clarifying his intention not to dampen festivities. In his apology video, he said, “I profusely apologise for whoever was offended by the video. I wish you celebrate Diwali with fanfare. Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!”

Rajpal Yadav’s Recent Projects

Currently seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, directed by Anees Bazmee, Yadav reprised his role as Chota Pandit, a character he first portrayed in 2007 in the original Bhool Bhulaiyaa, directed by Priyadarshan. Yadav also returned as Chota Pandit in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022). Next up, he is set to star in the action thriller Baby John, directed by Kalees and headlined by Varun Dhawan.

The video of Yadav’s interaction with the journalist has sparked a mix of reactions online, with some users supporting the actor’s stance and others questioning his response. As Yadav’s Diwali message continues to circulate, the actor remains in the spotlight both for his recent performances and the ongoing public reaction to his statements on environmental responsibility.
