Actor Alia Bhatt recently opened up about the special relationship her husband Ranbir Kapoor shares with their daughter Raha. During an appearance on the first episode of the second season of The Great Indian Kapil Show, Alia shared heartwarming details about Ranbir’s playful and creative side as a father. She appeared on the show alongside filmmaker Karan Johar, actor Vedang Raina, and director Vasan Bala to promote her upcoming film Jigra.
Speaking to host Kapil Sharma, Alia described the unique bond between Ranbir and Raha, revealing that her husband often invents random games for their daughter. “Raha and Ranbir’s relationship is one for the ages. There’s a friendship between them,” she said. One of their favorite games involves a sensory experience with clothes, where Ranbir introduces Raha to different fabrics like velvet, suede, and cotton in a fun yet educational manner. “He will tell her, ‘This is velvet, this is suede, this is cotton’, and make it into a very serious game,” Alia added.
The actor also mentioned that Ranbir has taken his fatherly duties a step further by learning a Malayalam lullaby, Unni Vava Vo, which is regularly sung to Raha by their nurse. Now, when Raha is ready for bed, she cues her parents by saying, “Mama Vavo, Papa Vavo.” Alia lovingly described how Ranbir now sings the lullaby for their daughter, calling it an “endearing and cute” sight.
A Journey of Love and Parenthood
Alia and Ranbir, who began dating while working on Ayan Mukerji’s fantasy film Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva in 2022, got married in a private ceremony at Ranbir’s Mumbai residence in April 2022. The couple welcomed their daughter Raha in November of the same year. The actors have kept their daughter’s life private, enforcing a strict no-photo policy until Raha’s first birthday in November 2023.
