Fans of actor Varun Tej were treated to an exciting glimpse of his upcoming gangster drama Matka as he revealed two of his distinct looks from the film on Sunday. Directed by Karuna Kumar, Matka is set to explore the gritty world of gangsters, showcasing Tej in a multifaceted role.

The actor took to X (formerly Twitter) to unveil the first look poster, featuring two contrasting avatars of his character. The poster, styled like a playing card, displays Tej in a middle-aged look with salt and pepper hair and a retro younger version. Both personas are depicted with a cigar in hand and an intense gaze, with a table in front of them stacked with money and a gun. Tej captioned the poster, “From the depths of poverty to the pinnacle of power, Destined to dominate. In his world, every move is a gamble.”

The dual looks have generated significant buzz among fans and critics alike. The stark contrast between the older, wealthier version and the younger, more rugged persona has intrigued audiences. Reactions on social media have been enthusiastic, with one fan commenting, “Look extraordinary ga undhi anna,” and another exclaiming, “Crazy look.” Speculation about the film’s connection to the Matka Kings of India has also surfaced, although the filmmakers have yet to confirm any details.

Matka is set to feature Varun Tej in four different looks, capturing the character’s evolution over a span of 24 years. The film’s narrative is expected to delve into his journey from an underdog to a powerful figure. Produced by Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala and Rajani Thalluri under Vyra Entertainments and SRT Entertainments, the film also stars Meenakshi Chaudhary and Nora Fatehi.

The creative team behind Matka includes A. Kishore Kumar as the cinematographer, GV Prakash Kumar as the music composer, and Karthika Srinivas R as the editor. The cast is rounded out by Naveen Chandra, Saloni, Ajay Ghosh, Kannada Kishore, Ravindra Vijay, and P Ravi Shankar in pivotal roles.

Matka is poised to make a significant impact with its multi-language release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. As anticipation builds, the film is expected to capture audiences with its intense drama and compelling performances.
