Uorfi Javed Faces Death Threats for Halloween 'Chhote Pandit' Look Recreation

Uorfi Javed, a well-known actor and reality TV star, is no stranger to fashion that garners both admiration and controversy. Her recent Halloween post, in which she recreated actor Rajpal Yadav’s iconic ‘Chhote Pandit’ look from the movie ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa,’ has attracted a wave of online threats and criticism.

For the Halloween celebration, Uorfi Javed paid homage to ‘Chhote Pandit,’ the beloved character played by Rajpal Yadav. She donned the character’s signature red face paint, along with an orange dhoti and a red top. Completing the look, she added a marigold garland around her neck and placed incense sticks behind her ears.

However, as soon as the actor, best known for her appearance on ‘Bigg Boss,’ shared the video on her Instagram, it sparked a controversy. Several users expressed their displeasure and perceived the costume as “insulting and aimed at offending Hindus.”

In a concerning turn of events, the 26-year-old star revealed that she received death threats following the video’s release. She shared screenshots of the threatening emails she had received, highlighting the severity of the backlash.

Expressing her shock and dismay, Uorfi Javed posted on social media, “I’m just shocked and appalled by this country, man. I’m getting death threats for recreating a character from a movie, whereas that character didn’t receive any backlash :/ (sic).” One of the shared emails, signed by a man named Nikhil Goswami, demanded that she delete the video, warning of dire consequences.

In another email, a person questioned her actions, accusing her of defaming the Hindu religion and making a sinister threat: “Live your life, I will shoot you at the intersection,” wrote Rupesh Kumar.

Uorfi Javed is recognized for her appearances on TV reality shows like ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ and ‘MTV Splitsvilla X4.’ Her bold fashion choices and unfiltered expressions frequently land her in the headlines, but the recent backlash and threats underscore the challenges that public figures face when navigating sensitive topics and artistic expressions.
