Released on May 10, the film directed by Tushar Hiranandani has garnered attention for its unique storyline and compelling performances.
According to early estimates reported by Sacnilk.com, Srikanth earned over ₹2.25 crore net in India on its opening day, showcasing a promising start for the movie. The film enjoyed an overall 12.14% Hindi occupancy on Friday, indicating a decent turnout in theaters across the country.
Rajkummar Rao has been receiving praise for his portrayal of Srikanth Bolla, a determined individual who pursued his dreams despite his visual impairment, eventually establishing Bollant Industries. Alongside Rao, the film features Alaya F, Jyotika, and Sharad Kelkar, who contribute significantly to the film’s narrative and impact.
In an earlier interview with news agency PTI, Rajkummar expressed his enthusiasm for taking on challenging roles like that of Srikanth. He mentioned, “I love challenges. And, something that scares me excites me even more. And Srikanth did that to me. I’ve never played a visually impaired man before. I didn’t know if I would be able to do it.”
The film not only showcases Rao’s versatility as an actor but also sheds light on societal issues related to empathy towards people with disabilities. Through Srikanth’s journey, the film addresses biases in educational and job opportunities for visually impaired individuals, highlighting the need for greater inclusivity and understanding in society.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishna Kumar, and Nidhi Parmar Hiranandani, Srikanth is expected to continue its strong performance at the box office, driven by positive word-of-mouth and critical acclaim for its impactful storytelling.
