Shenaz Treasury, known for her role in the 2003 romantic comedy Ishq Vishk, recently opened up about how the film didn’t significantly change her career trajectory. Speaking to News18, Shenaz expressed regrets about not capitalizing on the popularity the film brought her. Her comments come just ahead of the release of the film’s sequel, Ishq Vishk Rebound.
Despite starring alongside Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao in the original film, Shenaz revealed that she returned to her role as a VJ with MTV after Ishq Vishk. She candidly shared, “Surprisingly, it didn’t change my career. I did the movie and went back to MTV. And then I fell in love with a guy and moved to Thailand and did shows for MTV Asia. And then we moved to Hong Kong. We left India four years after Ishq Vishk, which wasn’t the best decision to take in terms of career. But I was in love. You do crazy things when you’re in love.”
Regarding the upcoming release of Ishq Vishk Rebound, Shenaz expressed her excitement and nostalgia. She mentioned watching a bit of the film and finding it cute, especially the revamped version of the song “Chot Dil Pe Lagi,” originally picturized on her and Shahid Kapoor. Shenaz conveyed her best wishes to the new cast of Ishq Vishk Rebound and hoped for its success, reminiscent of the impact Ishq Vishk had.
Recently, Shahid Kapoor, who made his debut with Ishq Vishk 21 years ago, also shared his sentiments about the sequel. He wished the team of Ishq Vishk Rebound good luck and expressed hope that the film would be as special for the new generation as it was for him.
Ishq Vishk, directed by Ken Ghosh, starred Shahid Kapoor, Amrita Rao, and others. It emerged as a sleeper hit and significantly contributed to the careers of its lead actors. Ishq Vishk Rebound, directed by Nipun Avinash Dharmadhikari and produced by Ramesh Taurani, features a fresh cast including Pashmina Roshan, Jibraan Khan, Rohit Saraf, and Naila Grewal. The film is set to hit theaters on June 21 under the banner of Tips Films Limited. Fans are eagerly anticipating this continuation of the beloved romantic comedy franchise.
