Shah Rukh Khan's "Dunki" Receives U/A Certification Post Changes

The much-anticipated film “Dunki,” featuring an ensemble cast including Shah Rukh Khan, Boman Irani, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover, has secured a U/A certification after undergoing alterations mandated by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Scheduled for release on December 21, the film underwent modifications to comply with certification requirements.

According to a report from Bollywood Hungama, CBFC requested the inclusion of anti-smoking health messages at the beginning and before the second half of the film. Additionally, specific alterations were made within the storyline to adhere to regulatory guidelines.

The report specified modifications such as changing a word to ‘immigrants’ in the initial sequences and altering scenes featuring Shah Rukh Khan’s character, Hardy, riding a horse during his wedding. Notably, an essential scene now includes a statutory warning against considering suicide as a solution to problems.

The certification, issued on December 15, comes following the submission of documentary evidence for the factual accuracy of statistics included in the film. As detailed on the censor certificate, “Dunki” spans a runtime of 2 hours, 41 minutes, and 24 seconds, equivalent to 161.24 minutes.

Produced by Rajkumar Hirani and Gauri Khan, “Dunki” is presented by JIO Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment, and Rajkumar Hirani Films. Co-written by Abhijat Joshi, Rajkumar Hirani, and Kanika Dhillon, the film narrates the heartwarming tale of four friends and their aspirations for a better life abroad.

“Dunki” delves into the transformative journey these friends undertake, amalgamating their diverse narratives into a story of love, friendship, and the pursuit of dreams. The recently released official trailer, titled “Dunki: Drop 4,” offers a glimpse into Rajkumar Hirani’s world, introducing characters embarking on an adventure from a picturesque village in Punjab to fulfill their aspirations in London.

As the release date draws near, the audience eagerly awaits the unveiling of “Dunki,” anticipating a captivating narrative that blends humor and emotion in the backdrop of the characters’ pursuit of a brighter future.

The film’s storyline, coupled with Shah Rukh Khan’s charismatic presence, sets the stage for a cinematic experience that promises to be both entertaining and thought-provoking, exploring themes of camaraderie, ambition, and the quest for a better tomorrow.
