Recent reports surrounding Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s alleged fee of ₹165 crore for films produced by Pooja Entertainment have stirred controversy amidst the production house’s financial challenges. Suneel Darshan, a prominent producer associated with the industry, addressed these claims in an interview with Times Now, dismissing the accuracy of the figures while hinting they might be closer to Tiger Shroff’s remuneration.
Pooja Entertainment, owned by Jackky Bhagnani and his father Vashu Bhagnani, has faced mounting debts reportedly amounting to ₹250 crore. Earlier reports suggested a financial crisis exacerbated by box office disappointments, including films like Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Ganapath, both featuring Tiger Shroff, which failed to meet expectations at the box office.
Regarding the speculated ₹165 crore fee, which some reports suggested was paid to Akshay Kumar for multiple films, Suneel Darshan clarified, “I can’t comment since the figure mentioned by you seems inaccurate. That seems to be closer to Tiger Shroff’s price.”
When asked about the financial challenges and the reported sale of Pooja Entertainment’s Mumbai office to alleviate debt, Vashu Bhagnani clarified that the office space is undergoing redevelopment, planned well in advance of recent financial issues. He emphasized the cyclical nature of hits and flops in the film industry and expressed optimism about future projects, including a grand-scale animation series currently in development.
Established in 1986, Pooja Entertainment has been associated with successful Bollywood ventures such as Coolie no.1, Biwi no.1, Rangrezz, Shaadi no.1, and Jawaani Jaaneman. Despite recent setbacks, Vashu Bhagnani remains committed to revitalizing the production house’s operations and strategies to navigate the current industry landscape.
