Nagarjuna’s Heartfelt Note for Naga Chaitanya

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Nagarjuna shared a proud message along with a picture of himself and Naga Chaitanya. He wrote,

“Dear @chay_akkineni, Proud of you my son! I have watched you push boundaries, face challenges, and give your heart to the craft. Thandel is not just another film—it is a testament to your relentless passion, your courage to dream big, and your hard work.”

Expressing gratitude to the fans, he continued,

About Thandel

Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, Thandel is based on a true incident involving fishermen from Srikakulam who accidentally drift into Pakistani waters and are detained there. Naga Chaitanya plays Raju, a fisherman who is appointed as the thandel (captain) of a fishing ship ahead of a trip near Gujarat. Sai Pallavi plays his love interest, Satya, whom he affectionately calls bujji thalli (loved one).

The film has emerged as Chaitanya’s biggest opener, collecting over ₹41.20 crore gross within two days of release, as per the film’s official X page. With strong word-of-mouth and emotional storytelling, Thandel continues to captivate audiences and dominate the box office.
