Malayalam Hit "Manjummel Boys" Set for OTT Release on Disney+ Hotstar

The highly acclaimed Malayalam film “Manjummel Boys,” which garnered significant attention following its theatrical release in February this year, is all set to make its digital debut on Disney+ Hotstar on May 5. Directed by Chidambaram and featuring a stellar cast including Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, and Ganapathi, the film received widespread praise not only in Kerala but also in other states for its gripping storyline and powerful performances.

“Manjummel Boys” is a survival thriller based on a true story and has earned an impressive IMDb rating of 8.6. The film will be available for streaming in multiple languages, including Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi, catering to a diverse audience base across India.

The narrative unfolds in 2006 in Tamil Nadu’s Kodaikanal and follows a group of men embarking on a fateful journey to the Gunaa caves, named after Kamal Haasan’s iconic film “Gunaa.” The film delves into the challenges and trials faced by these friends as they unite to rescue one of their own from a perilous situation, infused with adrenaline-packed sequences that keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

A standout feature of “Manjummel Boys” is the revival of the classic song “Kanmani Anbodu Kadhalan” from “Gunaa,” which adds depth and emotion to pivotal moments in the storyline.

Director Chidambaram expressed his excitement and gratitude for the overwhelming response received by “Manjummel Boys.” In a press note, he shared, “We set out to create a film that resonates universally going beyond all language barriers, and witnessing its connection with audiences across India is immensely gratifying.” He also expressed hopes for a similar love and enthusiasm from viewers as the film transitions to the digital space, providing accessibility in multiple languages to a wider audience.

The anticipation for “Manjummel Boys” on Disney+ Hotstar is palpable, with fans eagerly awaiting the opportunity to experience this gripping tale of friendship and survival in their preferred language.
