Liam Payne’s Body Returns to the UK After Lengthy Autopsy Delays

Liam Payne’s body has finally been returned to the UK after being delayed in Argentina for an extended period due to autopsy and toxicology tests. The former One Direction star tragically passed away on October 16 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, sparking an outpouring of grief from fans and the music world alike.

Payne’s body had remained in Argentina for several weeks following the incident as local authorities conducted a thorough investigation into the circumstances of his death. Authorities confirmed that the primary delay in releasing his body was the need for toxicology reports, which are known to take time to complete. In Payne’s case, the analysis was complicated by the potential presence of substances that might have interfered with the test results.

Sources confirmed to Page Six that the singer’s body was finally flown to the UK, accompanied by his father, Geoff Payne, and a bodyguard, who have been in Argentina since the incident. The body was released from the judicial morgue and placed aboard a flight earlier this week.

A memorial service is planned for the late singer, where members of One Direction—Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson—are expected to gather to honor their friend and bandmate. After the service, Payne will be laid to rest in a private ceremony.

Investigation into Payne’s Death Continues

Despite his body being returned, investigations into Liam Payne’s tragic death are still ongoing. Police in Buenos Aires have conducted multiple raids in connection with the incident, focusing on two hotel employees and another individual linked to the singer. These raids, which took place on Tuesday night, were aimed at uncovering the source of drugs that may have contributed to Payne’s fall.

Authorities have revealed that they have identified the “friend” who allegedly sold Payne the substances, but that individual was not present during the raid. Security footage from the hotel is also being examined, alongside searches of the employees’ lockers and personal belongings.

A source close to the investigation disclosed that the police are working to confirm the exact circumstances surrounding the singer’s consumption of drugs prior to his death. While authorities have yet to provide further details, the raids and ongoing probes suggest they are exploring the possibility that illicit substances may have played a significant role in the events leading up to Payne’s tragic fall.
