In a candid revelation on social media, Bollywood actor Ileana D’Cruz shared insights into her motherhood journey, shedding light on the lesser-discussed aspects of postpartum depression and the challenges of balancing personal time with parenting responsibilities.
Ileana, who welcomed her son Koa Phoenix Dolan in August last year, took to Instagram to address her followers on the demanding realities of new motherhood. She shared a heartfelt message alongside a no-makeup photo, emphasizing the struggles of finding time for herself amidst caring for her infant.
Expressing her sentiments, Ileana disclosed, “Between being a full-time mama and keeping house, I don’t seem to find time for myself. It’s been incredibly tough some days. Being sleep-deprived doesn’t help.” She candidly acknowledged the existence of postpartum depression, stressing its prevalence and the need for more open dialogue surrounding this issue.
Despite the challenges, Ileana conveyed gratitude for the joy her child brings, emphasizing the need for self-compassion and self-care. “I’m working on coming back here and giving you a glimpse into my new life now. I just haven’t been one of those moms who’ve ‘bounced back’ immediately,” she shared.
The actor highlighted her commitment to embracing her journey at her own pace, urging others to practice kindness towards themselves. “I’m being kinder on myself and my body and getting to a stronger healthy me at my own pace. But I’m coming back,” she affirmed, thanking her followers for their support and understanding.
Ileana’s candid revelation resonated with many, sparking conversations about the realities of motherhood and the importance of prioritizing mental and emotional well-being amidst the demands of childcare.
On the professional front, Ileana was last seen in “The Big Bull” alongside Abhishek Bachchan. Her upcoming projects include “Tera Kya Hoga Lovely” opposite Randeep Hooda, set to release on March 8, 2024, and “Do Aur Do Pyaar” alongside Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, slated for release on March 29.
