A Grand Finale in Gurgaon
After captivating audiences in Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Shillong, Ed Sheeran took the stage in Gurgaon for the final show of his India tour. Indian singer-songwriter Lisa Mishra opened the evening with a soulful performance of hits like Mujhe Tum Nazar Se, Kabira, and Sajna Ve, setting the perfect tone for the night.
Dressed in a “Delhi” T-shirt, Sheeran greeted the crowd with enthusiasm, saying, “It’s the last show of the tour – let’s go, Delhi!” He reflected on his journey in India, recalling his first performance in Mumbai a decade ago and his excitement about finally exploring more cities across the country.
A Night of Back-to-Back Hits
Sheeran kicked off the night with Castle on the Hill, immediately drawing fans into a sing-along frenzy. Using his signature loop station, he layered beats and melodies live, adding a unique touch to his performance.
The concert featured a power-packed setlist, including classics like Thinking Out Loud, Photograph, and You Need Me, I Don’t Need You. He also thrilled the crowd with mashups like Take It Back/Superstition/Ain’t No Sunshine and newer hits like Shivers.
The highlight of the evening came when Ed performed his romantic ballad Perfect. Fans sang along so passionately that it felt like a chorus led by the audience themselves.
Emotional Moments and a Tribute to India
Between songs, Sheeran shared an inspiring story about his early career struggles, recalling how The A Team initially failed to gain attention before eventually catapulting him to global fame.
As the night neared its grand finale, Ed surprised the audience by changing into an Indian cricket jersey before performing his biggest hit, Shape of You. The energy in the crowd was electric, with fans dancing and waving their phones to capture the magical moment. He closed the show with Bad Habits, leaving the audience in awe.
Before leaving the stage, Sheeran expressed gratitude for his incredible India experience, saying, “The last three weeks in India have been magical. I’ve learned a lot. Thank you for welcoming me, and hopefully, I will come back soon!”
