Dia Mirza Opens Up About Stepdaughter Samaira's Relationship: "She Hasn't Called Me Maa"

In a candid revelation, actor Dia Mirza shared insights into her relationship with stepdaughter Samaira Rekhi, shedding light on the dynamics of their bond. Dia, who married businessman Vaibhav Rekhi in 2021, discussed her family life and the unique connection she shares with Samaira.

During an interview with News18, Dia disclosed that Samaira does not refer to her as “maa” or “mother” but addresses her by name. Dia emphasized that she harbors no expectations regarding titles, acknowledging that Samaira already has a mother whom she calls “mumma” or “mom.” Dia appreciates the genuine rapport they share, noting that Samaira’s approach has even influenced her son Avyaan, who occasionally calls her “Dia mom.”

Samaira is the daughter of Vaibhav Rekhi from his previous marriage to Sunaina. Dia’s marriage to Vaibhav marked the blending of their families, and they recently welcomed their son, Avyaan, in May 2021.

Dia’s affection for Samaira is evident in her social media posts, where she celebrates moments with her stepdaughter and son. On Mother’s Day, Dia expressed her gratitude for motherhood through heartwarming Instagram pictures featuring Samaira and Avyaan. Dia’s genuine love for Samaira was further showcased in her heartfelt birthday tribute in March, where she shared cherished memories and conveyed her everlasting bond with her stepdaughter.

In addition to her family life, Dia’s recent professional endeavors include her role in the road drama Dhak Dhak, where she starred alongside Ratna Pathak Shah, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Sanjana Sanghi. Directed by Tarun Dudeja, the film explores themes of adventure and friendship, depicting a transformative road trip by a group of women breaking societal norms and stereotypes.
