In a candid conversation with Vogue Singapore, Deepika Padukone opened up about her desires for motherhood and reflected on the importance of family values she aims to instill in her future children alongside her husband, Ranveer Singh.
Reflecting on her upbringing under the guidance of her parents, Prakash Padukone and Ujjala Padukone, Deepika praised the values instilled in her by her family. She expressed her determination to retain her core identity despite the allure of fame and wealth in the entertainment industry. Deepika emphasized that at home, she is foremost a daughter and a sister, cherishing the grounded atmosphere her family provides.
Speaking about their future, Deepika and Ranveer are keen on imparting similar values to their children. Deepika remarked, “My family keeps me grounded, and Ranveer and I hope to inculcate the same values in our children. It’s about staying true to your roots.”
Responding to inquiries about motherhood, Deepika eagerly expressed her anticipation, stating, “Absolutely. Ranveer and I love children. We look forward to the day when we will start our own family.”
The couple celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in Belgium last November, reminiscing about their journey from their initial meeting on the set of ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela’ to their union in Italy’s Lake Como in 2018.
As for their professional pursuits, Deepika Padukone is set to star in the sci-fi action film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ opposite Prabhas. Additionally, she gears up for Siddharth Anand’s aerial action film ‘Fighter’ alongside Hrithik Roshan, slated for release on January 25, 2024. She also marks her presence in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again.’
