In a dramatic turn of events, Dalljiet Kaur has secured a stay order against her estranged husband, Nikhil Patel, from the Nairobi City court in Kenya. The order comes amid escalating tensions and public accusations between the former couple.
Dalljiet Kaur and Nikhil Patel’s marital discord has been making headlines. Recently, Patel sent a legal notice to Kaur, demanding she retrieve her belongings from his residence in Kenya. This followed Kaur’s accusations of Patel’s involvement in an extramarital affair. In a significant development, a leaked legal document has revealed that the Milimani Court in Nairobi City issued an injunction on June 11, preventing Patel from evicting Kaur and her son, Jaydon, or disposing of her possessions.
The stay order explicitly restrains Patel, his agents, employees, or servants from evicting Kaur and her child or dealing with her personal effects in any manner until the case is resolved. The court document states, “Pending the hearing and final determination of this application, an injunction is hereby issued restraining the Respondent (Patel), his agents, employees and/or servants from evicting the Petitioner/Applicant (Kaur) and her child (Jaydon) and/or throwing out and/or whatsoever dealing with the personal effects and belongings of the Petitioner/Applicant in her matrimonial home (in Kenya).”
The next hearing for this case is scheduled for June 28.
Kaur’s accusations have not only led to legal battles in Kenya but also raised questions under Indian law. Her social media posts accusing Patel of infidelity, particularly those involving pictures and videos of Patel’s daughter, could make her liable for civil and criminal proceedings. Patel claims these posts were shared without consent, referencing a video of his daughter’s speech at their wedding.
In his legal notice, Patel demanded Kaur collect her belongings by June. Failing this, he threatened to donate the items to charity, stating he has “no obligation” to store them.
For those unfamiliar with the case, Dalljiet Kaur accused Nikhil Patel of having an extramarital affair, which he confirmed, leading to their separation. The ensuing legal battle has drawn significant media attention, particularly with the recent court order in Nairobi.
As the next court date approaches, all eyes are on the Nairobi City court to see how this high-profile case unfolds. The legal and personal battles between Kaur and Patel continue to be a topic of intense public interest.
