BTS Dominates June Brand Rankings Following Jin’s Return; Lim Young Woong and Seventeen Follow

In a stunning comeback, BTS has reclaimed the top spot in the June brand rankings, driven by the return of their eldest member, Jin. Despite several members currently serving their mandatory military duties, the K-pop phenomenon has surged back to prominence, outpacing prominent trot singer Lim Young Woong and the popular boy band Seventeen.

BTS Back at Number One

The Korea Brand Reputation Research Institute’s latest monthly analysis, which monitors fan activity, media coverage, and community discussions, reveals that BTS has once again topped the charts. The group’s brand ranking skyrocketed following Jin’s return, achieving a remarkable score of 9 million points. This resurgence comes after BTS had slipped down the rankings while members fulfilled their military obligations.

In May, trot singer Lim Young Woong held the top position, with girl groups IVE and aespa trailing close behind, while BTS was ranked seventh. However, Jin’s return has rejuvenated the band’s brand presence, propelling them back to number one. Lim Young Woong follows closely with 8,287,506 points, showing significant growth compared to his previous month’s score of 7,923,400. Seventeen and IVE secured the third and fourth positions with 5,150,273 and 4,560,096 points, respectively.

Jimin Announces New Album ‘MUSE’

Adding to the excitement for BTS fans, member Jimin has announced his upcoming album titled “MUSE.” This will be Jimin’s second solo album, set to feature seven tracks and scheduled for release on July 19 at 1 PM KST. BigHit Music revealed that “MUSE” continues Jimin’s exploration of his true identity, building on the themes of his first solo album “FACE.” Pre-orders for the album began on June 18, 2024, at 11 a.m. KST.

BLACKPINK’s Brand Value Rises

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK has also seen a significant rise in their brand value. The girl group, which recently parted ways with YG Entertainment as individual artists, has climbed to the 14th position in June, thanks to the active involvement of members Lisa and Jennie in the music scene. This marks a notable improvement from their previous 23rd position.

Other Movements in Brand Rankings

LE SSERAFIM experienced a slight dip, moving down one position, while ILLIT and (G)I-DLE managed to maintain their standings. The brand rankings highlight the dynamic nature of the K-pop industry, with fluctuations reflecting the ongoing activities and releases of artists.

As BTS continues to dominate the charts and Jimin prepares for his solo comeback, the K-pop industry remains abuzz with anticipation and excitement. Fans worldwide are eagerly awaiting the new releases and performances that promise to further elevate the brand value of these iconic groups.
