The sports drama “Mr & Mrs Mahi” continues to make waves as it crosses the ₹30 crore mark at the box office on its 11th day. Directed by Sharan Sharma, the film has garnered praise for its engaging storyline and impressive performances by Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao.
On day 11, “Mr & Mrs Mahi” saw a slight dip in collections, accumulating ₹0.90 crore, as reported by Sacnilk. However, this dip didn’t hinder the film’s overall success, with its total collection reaching ₹30.80 crore.
The film narrates the story of Mahima (played by Janhvi Kapoor) and Mahendra (portrayed by Rajkummar Rao), a married couple who discover their shared passion for cricket. Mahendra takes on the role of Mahima’s coach, guiding her towards becoming a professional cricketer. Alongside Kapoor and Rao, the performances of Zarina Wahab, Kumud Mishra, and Rajesh Sharma have also been applauded by audiences.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared insights into the film’s second-week box office performance on X (formerly Twitter). He noted that “Mr & Mrs Mahi” experienced a surge in business over the second weekend, recovering from a slight dip on Friday. Adarsh highlighted the impact of competition from “Munjya” in urban centers and emphasized the film’s need to maintain steady performance throughout the week.
Critics have offered mixed reviews of “Mr & Mrs Mahi.” Saibal Chatterjee gave the film 2 out of 5 stars, stating that while certain aspects of the film worked well, it struggled to maintain a consistent tone, especially in balancing comedy and drama elements.
Released on May 31, “Mr & Mrs Mahi” is a joint venture of Dharma Productions and Zee Studios, showcasing a blend of sports, romance, and drama that has resonated with audiences.
