Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan is set to reprise his role in the popular Housefull franchise, joining stars Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh in the upcoming Housefull 5. The announcement marks a significant return for Bachchan to the comedic series, where he first appeared in Housefull 3 in 2016.
In Housefull 3, Abhishek Bachchan portrayed the character of Bunty, a wannabe rapper who finds himself in hilarious situations, including pretending to be differently abled. Now, he is thrilled to be back on board for the fifth installment, scheduled to start shooting in August.
Expressing his excitement, Abhishek mentioned, “Housefull is one of my favorite comedy franchises, and coming back feels like returning home. It’s always been a great pleasure to work with Sajid Nadiadwala.” He added, “I am looking forward to having mad fun on the sets with my fellow actors Akshay and Riteish.”
The project also marks a reunion for Abhishek Bachchan with director Tarun Mansukhani, with whom he previously collaborated on Dostana. Bachchan expressed his eagerness to work with Mansukhani again, emphasizing that the experience is bound to be filled with fun and laughter.
Housefull 5 is set to be shot on a cruise liner, adding a unique element to the franchise’s comedic storyline. The production is scheduled to commence in the UK in August, with a worldwide release date set for June 6, 2025.
The Housefull franchise, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, has been a massive success in Bollywood’s comedy genre. Starting in 2010 with Housefull, the series has seen multiple sequels, each adding new twists and characters. Housefull 1 and Housefull 2 were directed by Sajid Khan, while Housefull 3 was helmed by Sajid-Farhad. The fourth installment was directed by Farhad Samji.
Over the years, the franchise has featured a stellar cast, including actors like Arjun Rampal, Lara Dutta, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Asin, Jacqueline Fernandez, Rishi Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, and more.
