The disappearance of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Gurucharan Singh has taken a perplexing turn as Delhi Police sources indicate that his absence may have been premeditated. Singh’s father had lodged a missing complaint, stating that the actor had departed for Mumbai on April 22 at 8:30 pm but never reached his destination.
According to a report by News18, police sources revealed that Gurucharan Singh left his phone in Delhi’s Palam area and has since “moved out of” the city, making tracing his whereabouts more challenging. CCTV footage showed him transitioning between e-rickshaws, suggesting a planned departure from the capital.
The actor’s disappearance has raised concerns, leading to an investigation by the Delhi Police Special Cell, who have filed an FIR under Section 365 (abduction). Singh was last seen near the Delhi airport on April 22 carrying a backpack, after which he failed to contact his family or reach Mumbai as planned.
Gurucharan Singh gained fame for his portrayal of Roshan Singh Sodhi in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, a character beloved by the show’s audience. Despite leaving the series in 2013 and briefly returning in 2014, he ultimately exited the show in 2020, being replaced by actor Balwinder Singh Suri.
