Aayush Sharma’s latest release, Ruslaan, witnessed a slight uptick in box office numbers on its third day of screening. According to a report by Sacnilk, the movie earned ₹0.79 crore on Sunday, bringing its total collection to ₹2.09 crore. Directed by Karan Butani, Ruslaan tells the story of a deceased terrorist’s son determined to safeguard the nation and embody true patriotism. The film boasts a star-studded cast including Sushrii Mishraa, Vidya Malvade, Sangay Tsheltrim, Jagapathi Babu, and Manish Gaharwar in pivotal roles. Released on April 26, Ruslaan is produced by K. K. Radhamohan.
Leading up to Ruslaan‘s release, Aayush Sharma took to Instagram to showcase his significant physical transformation for the movie. Alongside a montage of rigorous gym workouts, Sharma shared insights into the challenges faced during the shoot, including filming bare-body fight scenes in freezing temperatures.
Critics have offered mixed reviews of Ruslaan. Film critic Saibal Chatterjee noted that the film, while presenting a Muslim protagonist striving for patriotic ideals, falls short in delivering impactful heroics akin to established action stars like Akshay Kumar or Vidyut Jammwal. Chatterjee’s critique underscores the film’s attempt to navigate contemporary nationalistic themes prevalent in Bollywood.
