Kalki 2898 AD First Look: Amitabh Bachchan to Play Ashwatthama in Sci-Fi Film

The much-anticipated sci-fi dystopian film, “Kalki 2898 AD,” has unveiled its first look teaser, introducing legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan in the role of Ashwatthama. The teaser, which premiered on Star Sports after the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) match during the Indian Premier League (IPL), has created a buzz among fans and cinephiles alike.

In the 21-second promo video, Amitabh Bachchan is seen in a solemn moment, praying in front of a Shiva Linga inside what appears to be a cave. However, his meditation is interrupted by a child’s curious questions, asking about his immortality and identity. Responding with an air of mystery and authority, Bachchan’s resonant voice declares, “Since ancient times, I have awaited the arrival of the Avatar. I am Guru Drona’s son. Ashwatthama.”

The teaser not only showcased Bachchan’s powerful presence but also hinted at the film’s intricate narrative and mythical elements. Amitabh Bachchan further shared the teaser on his Instagram feed without any caption, letting the visual speak for itself.

Earlier, the makers of “Kalki 2898 AD” had released a poster featuring Bachchan’s character, teasing fans with the tagline, “The time has come to know who he is.” This strategic marketing approach has heightened anticipation for the film, adding to the excitement surrounding its release.

In addition to Bachchan, “Kalki 2898 AD” boasts a stellar cast that includes Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani in pivotal roles. The collaboration between these acclaimed actors and director Nag Ashwin, known for his National Award-winning work in “Mahanati,” promises a cinematic experience unlike any other.

Director Nag Ashwin’s vision, coupled with modern technology and the star-studded ensemble, has set high expectations for “Kalki 2898 AD.” The film marks a significant collaboration between Deepika Padukone and Prabhas, while reuniting Bachchan and Padukone after their successful pairing in the 2015 film “Piku.”

Produced by Aswini Dutt, the founder of Vyjayanthi Movies, “Kalki 2898 AD” is slated for release in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, catering to a wide audience across India. With its intriguing premise, stellar cast, and talented crew, “Kalki 2898 AD” is poised to make a mark in the realm of Indian cinema, blending mythology with futuristic storytelling in a visually stunning narrative.
