In the wake of a recent security threat faced by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde paid a visit to the actor’s residence in Mumbai’s Bandra. The meeting came in the aftermath of an incident where unidentified assailants fired shots outside Khan’s home, sparking concerns about the actor’s safety.
During the visit, security around Salman Khan’s residence was significantly heightened as Chief Minister Eknath Shinde arrived to express solidarity and assurance to the actor and his family. Salman Khan personally welcomed Shinde and escorted him into his home, where they were joined by noted screenplay writer Salim Khan, politician Baba Siddiqui, and Siddiqui’s son Zeeshan.
Addressing the media gathered outside Khan’s residence, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reassured the public of the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of citizens. He stated, “The government is with you, I have told Salman Khan. Both the accused have been arrested. They will be interrogated. We will get to the root of the case. Nobody will be spared. Nobody should be targeted this way.”
Shinde also condemned the idea of gang violence, particularly mentioning notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, whose gang members are believed to be behind the recent attack on Khan’s home. “No gang or gang war will be allowed. We won’t allow this to happen. We will finish (Lawrence) Bishnoi,” he added emphatically.
The incident, which occurred on a Sunday morning around 5 am, involved two individuals arriving on a motorcycle and firing four rounds outside Khan’s Galaxy Apartments. The suspects, apprehended by the police, are reportedly linked to Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, known for its involvement in high-profile criminal activities.
This recent security breach is not the first time Salman Khan has faced threats from criminal elements. Since November 2022, Khan’s security level has been elevated to Y-Plus due to specific threats from gangsters like Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. The actor is also authorized to carry a personal firearm and has access to an armored vehicle for added protection.
The meeting between Salman Khan and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde underscores the seriousness with which authorities are addressing security concerns in the entertainment industry, signaling a commitment to ensuring the safety of public figures and addressing organized crime threats.
