Akshay Kumar Set for Tollywood Debut in Vishnu Manchu's Epic Saga "Kannappa"

Actor Akshay Kumar is gearing up for his debut in the Telugu film industry with Vishnu Manchu’s upcoming project “Kannappa.” The film, which is a fantasy drama rooted in mythology, boasts a star-studded cast list and has been creating quite a buzz in the industry.

The news of Akshay Kumar joining the cast was shared by industry tracker Ramesh Bala on social media. His addition to the already impressive ensemble, including Prabhas, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and others, has further elevated the excitement surrounding the film.

This isn’t Akshay Kumar’s first venture into the South Indian film scene. He previously starred in a bilingual film titled “Ashaant” in 1993, which released in Kannada as “Vishnu Vijaya.” His debut in Tamil cinema happened in 2018 with Shankar’s “2.0” alongside Rajinikanth. “Kannappa” marks his third South Indian project and his much-anticipated entry into Tollywood.

“Kannappa” is Vishnu Manchu’s dream project, produced by Mohan Babu under AVA Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory. The film’s storyline, developed by a team of seasoned writers, revolves around the legendary devotee of Lord Shiva, Kannappa.

Apart from its stellar cast, the film boasts top-notch talent behind the scenes, including music by Stephen Devassy and Mani Sharma, cinematography by Sheldon Chau, and editing by Anthony. The production has been capturing attention with its extensive shoot locations, from New Zealand to Hyderabad.

While initially casting Kajal Aggarwal and later Nupur Sanon as female leads, the film eventually settled on Preity Mukhundhan. With its pan-Indian appeal, “Kannappa” is set to captivate audiences across languages, with a Telugu release and dubbing in other South Indian languages and Hindi.

The anticipation for “Kannappa” continues to grow as the film gears up for its grand cinematic journey, promising a visual spectacle and an epic storytelling experience for audiences worldwide.
