Vijay Deverakonda Opens Up About Choosing Directors and His Upcoming Film 'Family Star'

In a recent interview, popular South Indian actor Vijay Deverakonda discussed his criteria for working with directors, shedding light on his approach towards selecting projects and his upcoming film “Family Star.”

Deverakonda, who is gearing up for the release of “Family Star” alongside Mrunal Thakur, revealed his stance on collaborating with debutant directors. He emphasized the importance of directors having some experience before taking on the responsibility of helming a project with him in the lead role.

During the interview with Indiaglitz, Deverakonda stated, “No, I don’t work with debutants now. At least they need to be one film old. It’s a huge challenge to handle things when you come straight onto a set.” He elaborated on the pressure involved in managing budgets and scale, highlighting the benefits of directors having prior experience to get into the groove of filmmaking.

The actor emphasized the need for directors to be fully prepared to harness his potential as an actor. “I need my directors to be fully ready to exploit me. I don’t want to work with debutants,” he reiterated, underlining the importance of observing various aspects of a director’s work before committing to a project.

Regarding his upcoming film “Family Star,” directed by Parasuram Petla and co-starring Mrunal Thakur, Deverakonda expressed his excitement. The film is set to release on April 5 and features Divyansha Kaushik and Rashmika Mandanna in cameo roles.

Deverakonda’s recent releases, including “World Famous Lover” and “Liger,” received mixed responses from audiences. However, his last release, “Kushi,” alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu, garnered positive reviews and performed well at the box office.

As fans eagerly await the release of “Family Star” and anticipate Deverakonda’s future projects, the actor’s discerning approach towards choosing directors reflects his commitment to delivering impactful performances and engaging storytelling on the silver screen.
