Vikrant Massey Shares Insights into His Role in "12th Fail" and Upcoming Projects

In a recent interview, acclaimed actor Vikrant Massey delved into the intricacies of his latest film, “12th Fail,” shedding light on the challenges he faced while portraying the character of Manoj Kumar Sharma. Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the film has garnered attention for its poignant narrative and Massey’s compelling performance.

During his conversation with GQ India, Massey revealed the rigorous preparation process he underwent for the role, emphasizing the meticulous attention to detail demanded by Chopra. Spending nearly a year and a half in preparation and three months in intensive workshops, Massey not only immersed himself in the character but also underwent physical transformations, including weight loss and skin tanning. However, Massey disclosed that the true challenge lay in embodying the emotional depth of the character. He expressed the weight of responsibility in portraying a figure who symbolizes the aspirations of millions of Indians, navigating the harsh realities of pursuing dreams against formidable odds. Reflecting on the character’s struggles, Massey articulated the universal theme of resilience amidst adversity, underscoring the film’s resonance with audiences.

Looking ahead, Massey shared insights into his upcoming projects, including “Yaar Jigri, Sector 36” and “The Sabarmati Report.” Additionally, it was announced that he will reprise his role alongside Taapsee Pannu in the sequel to the 2021 film “Haseen Dillruba,” titled “Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba,” further cementing his presence in the industry.

As audiences anticipate Massey’s future endeavors, his dedication to his craft and ability to portray complex characters with depth continue to solidify his status as one of Bollywood’s most promising talents. “12th Fail” stands as a testament to Massey’s versatility and commitment to storytelling, offering audiences a compelling exploration of ambition, resilience, and the pursuit of dreams in the face of adversity.
