"Dune: Part Two Nets ₹7 Crore in India, Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya's Epic Sequel Gains Traction"

Denis Villeneuve’s highly anticipated sequel, “Dune: Part Two,” featuring a stellar cast including Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya, has made a promising start at the Indian box office. Released on Friday both in India and overseas, the film has garnered significant attention from audiences and critics alike.

Building on the success of its predecessor, “Dune: Part Two” picks up the storyline from where “Dune: Part One” left off, captivating viewers with its immersive narrative and stunning visuals. According to Sacnilk.com, the film has shown solid performance in India, raking in ₹7 crore within two days of its release.

On Friday, the film collected ₹2.5 crore net, followed by ₹3.25 crore net on Saturday in English, with additional earnings of ₹0.25 crore and ₹0.45 crore in Hindi, respectively. The movie also earned ₹0.7 crore from limited paid previews on Thursday. Combined, “Dune: Part Two” amassed a total of ₹7.25 crore net and ₹8.55 crore gross in India across both languages, indicating a promising start at the box office.

Despite its commercial success, “Dune: Part Two” has received mixed reviews from critics. Hindustan Times noted that while the film boasts several brilliant scenes and well-choreographed action sequences, it struggles to maintain momentum throughout its lengthy runtime. However, with its captivating storyline and strong performances, the sequel is expected to continue drawing audiences to theaters over its opening weekend.

Based on Frank Herbert’s iconic 1965 novel series, “Dune” has garnered significant anticipation since its inception. The first installment was released amid the pandemic, with simultaneous theatrical and digital releases. Now, with the release of “Dune: Part Two,” expectations are high for the film to surpass the success of its predecessor and make a significant impact at the box office.
