Fighter Box Office Collection: Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone Film Faces Lowest Collection Yet

In the realm of Indian cinema, Siddharth Anand’s latest directorial venture, “Fighter,” starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, has been a focal point of attention since its release. However, recent developments suggest a mixed bag of success and controversy for the film.

On its thirteenth day since hitting theaters, “Fighter” has seen a notable dip in box office earnings, with collections totaling just over ₹3 crore. This marks the lowest collection figure reported thus far for the film, indicating a potential slowdown in its theatrical run. Despite its star-studded cast, which includes Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi alongside the lead duo, the film’s performance at the box office seems to have hit a rough patch.

The domestic box office figures for “Fighter” reveal a gradual decline in earnings following an initially promising start. After a commendable week one collection of ₹146.5 crore, subsequent days witnessed a downward trend. Notably, on day nine, the film managed to rake in ₹5.75 crore, followed by ₹10.5 crore on day ten and ₹12.5 crore on day eleven. However, the earnings dropped to ₹3.25 crore on day twelve before plummeting further to ₹3.01 crore on day thirteen, bringing the total domestic earnings to an estimated ₹181.51 crore nett.

In addition to its financial performance, “Fighter” has also found itself embroiled in controversy. Reports emerged of the film receiving a legal notice over a kissing scene involving the lead actors, portrayed by Roshan and Padukone. The notice, issued by Wing Commander Saumya Deep Das of the Indian Air Force, criticized the scene for its alleged misrepresentation of the dignity and sacrifices associated with the armed forces. The scene, set on a runway, was deemed by the notice as inappropriate and contrary to the expected standards of discipline and decorum from officers.

Despite the hurdles, “Fighter” has garnered praise for its portrayal of valor, sacrifice, and patriotism, aiming to honor the Indian armed forces. Produced by Viacom18 Studios in collaboration with Marflix Pictures, the film marks the first-ever on-screen collaboration between Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, adding to its significance within the industry.

While “Fighter” initially enjoyed positive reviews and word-of-mouth promotion from audiences, its recent performance at the box office coupled with the legal scrutiny raises questions about its trajectory in the coming weeks. As the film navigates through challenges, its fate in the realm of Indian cinema remains uncertain, leaving both fans and industry observers eager to witness its unfolding journey.
