Prabhas' "Salaar" Nears ₹300 Crore Mark, Sriya Reddy's Comeback Garners Acclaim

The fervor around Prabhas-starrer “Salaar” continues to surge as the film inches closer to the coveted ₹300 crore milestone at the box office. On its sixth day since release, Prashanth Neel’s action-packed offering amassed a staggering ₹17 crore across all languages, as reported by Sacnilk. With its cumulative earnings reaching ₹297.40 crore domestically, the film is on the brink of joining the exclusive ₹300-crore club.

While Prabhas’ portrayal of the character Deva has been lauded by fans and critics alike, Sriya Reddy’s return to Telugu cinema with her role as Radha Rama Mannar in “Salaar” has also received widespread acclaim. Reddy, in an interview with Hindustan Times, expressed her discussions with director Prashanth Neel about her character. She highlighted the director’s assurance that her role would stand out and commended his commitment to delivering on that promise through extensive preparation, including numerous discussions, meetings, and look tests.

Reviewing the film for NDTV, critic Saibal Chatterjee rated “Salaar: Part 1” with 2.5 stars. He highlighted the film’s first half, which delves into the backstory of the central character, Devaratha (played by Prabhas), his relationships, and the political landscape of the principality of Khansaar. The narrative sets the stage for Deva’s impactful entry into Khansaar, where a fierce battle for the throne unfolds among rival tribes.

“Salaar,” released across Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada languages on December 22, has been enthralling audiences with its multi-dimensional storyline and Prabhas’ charismatic performance. Additionally, the film sets the stage for Prabhas’ next project, Nag Ashwin’s “Kalki 2898 AD,” co-starring Deepika Padukone.

The film’s soaring box office performance and the appreciation for the ensemble cast’s performances continue to solidify its position as a prominent cinematic offering, capturing audiences across diverse linguistic regions. As “Salaar” marches toward the ₹300 crore milestone, its impact on Indian cinema remains palpable, promising an enduring legacy in the industry.
