In a landmark development during the G20 events in New Delhi, Bharat, Dr. Viinay Sarikonda was appointed as India’s Trade Commissioner for Brazil and the Latin American Caribbean Countries. has received considerable acclaim and commendation. Notably, India’s Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has extended his support and appreciation for this appointment. This development symbolizes a pivotal milestone in the efforts to fortify the longstanding connections and promote mutual relations between India and the countries of the Latin American Caribbean region.

With a keen focus on international trade agreements and export trade programs, Dr. Sarikonda is poised to play a pivotal role in expanding India’s presence in various industries, including Pharmaceuticals, Technologies, farming, poultry, food Processing, meat processing, and agricultural collaborations. His vision extends beyond mere trade; he seeks to identify opportunities for enhancing India’s infrastructure, particularly through the establishment of educational institutions and hospitals.

Dr. Viinay Sarikonda has been a steadfast advocate for women’s empowerment throughout his career. Recognizing the critical role that women play in economic and social development, he has championed initiatives aimed at promoting gender equality and providing women with the tools and opportunities they need to thrive.

One of the standout initiatives of Dr. Sarikonda’s tenure is his dedication to promoting tourism, medical tourism, and film productions between India and the Latin American Caribbean Countries. Furthermore, he aims to foster IT development to enhance cooperation between these regions, leveraging technology as a means to strengthen ties.

A key aspect of Dr. Viinay Sarikonda’s role is facilitating exports and imports to 33 Latin American Caribbean Countries. Under his leadership, the Latin American Caribbean Federation of India (LACFI) is actively working on building bilateral trade relations by assisting Indian companies in identifying and pursuing various projects in the Latin American region. This strategic approach is expected to promote growth in commerce and trade, with a particular emphasis on the burgeoning Indian Pharma sector.

There are a plethora of opportunities available for Indian businessmen in areas such as mining, solar energy, tourism, and the hospitality sector. Moreover, collaborations in education are on the horizon, promising to further strengthen the ties between India and the Latin American Caribbean region.

To facilitate these ambitious goals, Dr. Sarikonda is establishing 24 offices in 24 states across India. These offices will not only promote small-scale industries for export but will also benefit from government schemes provided by the Central Government of India. This initiative is poised to drive economic growth and promote entrepreneurship among India’s youth.

Additionally, a significant development is the opening of the head office in Park Place Tower, Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai, UAE. This office will serve as a hub for all types of global trades, providing invaluable support to importers and exporters alike.

To underscore the commitment to these trade opportunities, a delegation from the Latin American Caribbean Federation of India is embarking on a visit to Mexico and other parts of South America from October 2, 2023, to October 10, 2023. This delegation aims to strengthen the mechanisms created for enabling trade between India and the Latin American region.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has expressed his appreciation and congratulations for Dr. Viinay Sarikonda’s appointment as Trade Commissioner to Brazil and the Latin American Caribbean Countries. Prime Minister Modi lauded Dr. Sarikonda’s visionary approach, particularly in creating a system that empowers young entrepreneurs to grow and export their products to other countries. Dr. Sarikonda’s efforts include mentoring young MBA students in the intricacies of imports and exports, providing them with support from the Central Government of India.
